Updating Adobe Creative Cloud Licensing and Apps

Setting up Your Adobe Account

  1. Once you receive the email invitation from Adobe, click on the link to Accept Invitation
     

  2. If you already have an Adobe account, enter your Adobe password and move onto step 4, if you do not know your Adobe password you need to reset your Adobe account password in step 3.
  3. If you do not know your account password, click on the link to Reset your Password.
    • Click on the Reset Password link on the website that comes up to initiate a reset of your password.
    • Go to your email and open the email from Adobe you just received.
    • Click on the link to Reset your Password and supply the new password twice and click the Submit button.
    • Go back to webpage you originally opened and enter your new password. If you lost the page in the password reset, go back to the original Adobe email invite and click on the Accept Invitation link to accept the invitation.
  4. Once you log in, you will be asked to enter a cell phone number for account reset. You can enter a number or click Skip to skip this step.
  5. You should be forwarded to a page that congratulated you on your Adobe account setup.
     
  6. If you are attempting to install Adobe apps onto a PSU\CLA owned computer, you will have to install the Adobe Creative Cloud app form Self Service if you use a MAC and Software Center if you use a PC. If you are using a PSU\CLA managed device see the sections below for specific instructions for your scenario.
  7. If you are attempting to load the Adobe creative Cloud apps onto a personally managed device go to the section below called Loading Adobe Creative Cloud Apps on a Personally Managed Device.

Loading Programs on a PSU\CLA Managed PC

  1. Open Software Center by opening Start Menu --> All Apps --> Microsoft System Center --> Software Center
     
  2. To install Adobe Creative Cloud find it in the list of Available Software, check the box to the left of the software title and click the blue Install Selected button in the bottom right hand corner of the Software Center.

  3. Once the installation is finished, go to your Start Menu --> All Apps --> Adobe Creative Cloud Folder --> Adobe Creative Cloud app
     
  4. Enter your Penn State email address into the Email Address field, then enter your Adobe Account password in the Password field.
     
  5. If you get successfully logged in, you'll see an app window that looks like the picture below. Next, click on the Apps link near the top of the Creative Cloud app window to see the available apps.
     
  6. If you already have Adobe apps loaded you will see Update buttons beside them. For new apps, you don't have loaded you'll see Install buttons next to the app. Installed apps that do not have an update available will have an Open button next to them.

    For installed apps that have an Open button next to them, if you hover your pointer over the Open button a Cog Wheel icon will appear to the left of the Open button. If you left click this Cog Wheel icon a menu will appear giving you the options to Manage Application or Uninstall the app.
     
  7. Update and install apps as you see fit. As long as you use the Adobe Creative Cloud app you do not need admin rights to install, update, manage or uninstall an Adobe Creative Cloud app. 

Loading Programs on a PSU\CLA Managed Mac

  1. Open Self Service on your Mac and log in using your CLA account information.
     
  2. Install Adobe Creative Cloud from the Featured or Install New Software section. You do not need admin rights to load anything from Self Service. 
     
  3. Once the installation is finished, go to your Applications folder, Adobe Creative Cloud Folder then open the Adobe Creative Cloud app.
     
  4. Enter your Penn State email address into the Email Address field, then enter your Adobe Account password in the Password field.
     
  5. If you get successfully logged in, you'll see an app window that looks like the picture below. Next, click on the Apps link near the top of the Creative Cloud app window to see the available apps.
     
  6. If you already have Adobe apps loaded you will see Update buttons beside them. For new apps, you don't have loaded you'll see Install buttons next to the app. Installed apps that do not have an update available will have an Open button next to them.

  7. Update and install apps as you see fit. As long as you use the Adobe Creative Cloud app you do not need admin rights to install, update, manage or uninstall an Adobe Creative Cloud app.

Loading Adobe Creative Cloud Apps on a Personally Managed Device

  1. If you are trying to load Adobe programs onto your personally managed computer, click on the Launch Adobe.combutton from the Congratulations webpage from the main steps above.
  2. If a terms and conditions dialog appears, agree to the terms and click the Continue button.
  3. You will be taken to your Adobe Account webpage where you can manage your account and download programs to your personally managed devices. 
  4. Click on the Menu icon at the top middle of your account page.
     
  5. Click on the Creative Cloud icon that appears on the Products menu.
     
  6. Click on the blue Download apps button near the upper right hand corner of the Adobe Creative Cloud webpage.
     
  7. Next, scroll down to Creative Cloud and click the blue Download button.
     
  8. Fill out the form that appears and click the Continue button.
     
  9. Go to your downloads folder and install the Creative Cloud app by installing the file downloaded. It should be named CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg on a mac and CreativeCloudInstaller.exe on a PC.
  10. Once the Creative Cloud app is installed, refer to step 3 of the Mac or PC instructions.
