My research interests include the ways in which race has been mapped onto language in the modern era, Spanish in settings of lectal and linguistic contact, and methodologies in corpus linguistics. I am particularly interested in how we can use the findings of sociolinguistic research to address the issues of linguistic discrimination in North-American schools and courtrooms.
