Christian is a graduate student in the Hispanic Linguistics M.A./Ph.D. program in the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. He earned a BA in Spanish from Villanova University, with a minor in Arabic Language and Culture. His research interests are quite varied, but currently include phonological perception and reproduction of second language learners and bilingual speakers, language contact and change, and language evolution over time. Most recently, Christian has been working with the New Mexico Spanish-English Bilingual (NMSEB) corpus, analyzing this communityโs use of motion verbs, and how Spanish motion verbs may be influenced by a variety of syntactic or discourse factors.
