Biography:

My name is Kevin McGovern, and I am a Ph.D. student in the Hispanic Linguistics track of the M.A./Ph.D. program in the department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. Although my undergraduate degrees in computer science, being an undergraduate fellow of the NSF PIRE program for Summer 2022 led to my interest in linguistics research, especially research where I can combine my computational background with my interests in language science. My areas of interest for research include codeswitching, multilingualism, language variation and change, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistics.
