Penn State has shared upcoming changes to Microsoft 365 storage allocations as part of a broader effort to create a more sustainable storage environment. There is no immediate action required for most users, and Outlook email storage for employees remains unchanged at 100 GB. The University and college IT teams are continuing to assess the impact on Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive and will provide more information as details become available.
Within the College of the Liberal Arts, only a small percentage of users are currently using more than the new OneDrive maximum of 750 GB, though Penn State recognizes that these changes may significantly affect individuals with large storage needs. Penn State IT and college IT will work directly with impacted users, share storage alternatives, and provide guidance to help minimize disruption to teaching, research, outreach, and administrative work.
